Be smart, play brilliant, and pickup craps the correct way!
Games that use dice and the dice themselves date all the way back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but current craps is just about 100 years old. Current craps developed from the ancient English game referred to as Hazard. Nobody knows for certain the beginnings of the game, but Hazard is believed to have been invented by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, in the twelfth century. It is believed that Sir William’s paladins played Hazard amid a siege on the citadel Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was derived from the fortress’s name.
Early French colonists imported the game Hazard to Nova Scotia. In the 18th century, when driven away by the British, the French moved south and settled in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became known as Cajuns. When they left Acadia, they brought their favored game, Hazard, with them. The Cajuns simplified the game and made it fair mathematically. It is believed that the Cajuns altered the title to craps, which was gotten from the name of the non-winning throw of 2 in the game of Hazard, recognized as "crabs."
From Louisiana, the game extended to the Mississippi river boats and across the nation. Many consider the dice builder John H. Winn as the creator of modern craps. In the early 1900s, Winn created the modern craps setup. He appended the Don’t Pass line so players can bet on the dice to lose. At another time, he created the spaces for Place bets and added the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
