If you prefer to take a drink every now and then, keep your money at home if you plan to do your drinking in a brick and mortar betting house. I am not joking. clean out your billfold, your wallet, and keep all money, credit cards and checks at home. Take just the money you are planning to use on alcohol, tips and whatever loose coins you plan on loosing and keep the remainder behind.
Cynical? Not really. Practical really. You might well experience a success after a boozy night out with your buddies and be lucky enough to catch a 25 minute roll at a smokin craps table. Hold on to that tale because it is as brief as it gets if you constantly drink and wager. The two simply do not mix.
Keeping your money at home is a bit dramatic, but preventative actions for dramatic behavior is proportionate and required. If you bet to succeed, then do not consume alcohol and play. If you can afford to toss away your cash without a worry, then consume all the no charge alcohol your gut can handle, but don’t take bank cards and checks to toss into the mix of going after losses after your inebriated brain squanders all the cash!
